Public opinion and basketball odds: Some teams gather a large public following. The result may be a large amount of money wagered on that team thereby reducing the price offered by bookmakers. This can make a bet on the opposition a more attractive proposition.
Team Motivation: Be aware of the importance of a game to team members. A team that has already qualified for the final may not be motivated to win the present game. Other teams facing a must-win situation or looking to avenge a previous heavy loss may be highly motivated to win.
Be selective: In most cases there are only a few good value bets happening at one time. Use your brain not your emotions. Bet only on matches that you consider a value bet. Avoid wagering on your favourite team (unless they are the reigning champions) or every game played in one round.
